Mobile Application Development

Mobile application development and maintenance is key to the seamless functionality of a mobile workforce in connected and disconnected modes. We have a thorough understanding and experience with mobile technologies that help federal agencies accomplishing the "mobile-first" strategy and assess existing systems to see if a mobile option makes sense. Our enterprise mobility capabilities include architecture, user experience, application development and security. We provide intuitive and effective mobile applications design and development, QA testing and end to end life cycle device management for customers.

Our approach includes Representational State Transfer (REST)-based API First design, Responsive Web design and User/Human centric design for easy access of the application via mobile devices and efficient integration with other applications. The usage of industry standard frameworks for mobile enablement like “Twitter Bootstrap” for responsive web design and tools like PhoneGap and Apache Cordova provide efficient access to the application via multiple devices. We build mobile solutions for smart phones to work in offline/disconnected mode and store field data and then synchronize the data with the enterprise application/database when connectivity is available. Mobile applications leverage lightweight or in memory mobile databases like SQLite to collect data in the field when connectivity is not available and synchronize the data into the applications enterprise database when connected through application’s backend web services via REST APIs and receive updated and new datasets from the enterprise database.

We have assisted our federal customers in assessing their existing scientific, health, acquisition, financial and inventory-based enterprise application systems to build mobility-led business solutions. We are developing mobile applications for federal customer personnel in the field to access weather and climate meta-data and mission critical workflows through mobile Android devices. The mobile apps are built to access enterprise business data using technologies like Java, Angular.js, SQLite, and Objective C, JSON, Node JS, Angular JS, MongoDB, HTML 5, iOS, and Android SDKs. We also utilize cross mobile platform tools/software development kits (SDKs) such as JQUERY Mobile, HTML5, CSS and PhoneGap to establish an integrated development architecture for multiple mobile devices. This facilitates developing cross mobile device application templates and screens for the presentation layer to render the required form factor with minimal customization for Apple and Android mobile devices.
